Mama Knows Best: Stephanie’s Mother

blog

They always say, “The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.” In the case of Stephanie’s bohemian, flower-child style, it seems that this theory is quite true.

When Stephanie forwarded me a picture of her mother, Alexandra, on her wedding day to her dad back in the late seventies, her crochet sleeves and gauzy wedding dress looks like something a modern bride could be seen wearing while walking down the aisle. A soon-to-be-bride herself, Stephanie had nothing but praise for her mom’s signature style.

“With my own wedding coming up, I’m finding a lot of inspiration in my parent’s wedding albums. It’s funny how as I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned to relate to my mother in so many new ways—especially when it comes to our similar taste and style.”
blog

To duplicate Stephanie’s mom’s wedding day look, we took a new arrival from one of our favorite brands, Free People. The Slip Away Pullover dress in ivory is perfect with its crochet detailing on the bottom. This gauzy dress is fairly sheer, so we layered it over the Velvet Andi Lace Tank Dress. To pull the outfit together, we added the Gorjana Barrington Belt in Gold and added another touch of gold with the Palm Beach Lately Arrow Necklace.

What does your mom’s wedding album look like? Maybe Rapunzel’s Closet can help you re-create the iconic look just like Stephanie!

Velvet Andi Lace Tank Dress: $150.00
Gorjana Barrington Belt: $58.00

Steal This Look ~ Jackie O

Steal This Look: Oh, Jackie O!
blog

Palm Beach has quite a colorful history. Some of the most interesting tales are from the days when the Kennedy family would vacation on the Island and make appearances all throughout town. Some would argue that the most inspiring of the Kennedy clan was the former First Lady herself, Jackie Kennedy Onassis. We thought it was about time that we did our own little tribute to the timeless fashion icon in this week’s “Steal This Look.”

Though many of us were not around during the days of Jackie frequenting the area, her fashions have been forever documented in countless images of the icon. She was known worldwide for her classic pieces which mixed perfect tailoring, chic lines, and basic color schemes.blog

Our new Joie Norton Pique dress looked like something out of Jackie’s stylebook. Since the dress itself speaks enough through its feminine cut and bright, summertime color, accessories are best kept minimal. We thought the Palm Beach Lately Arrow Necklace was incredibly appropriate, considering that they are hand-made on the Island. We can easily picture a modern-day Jackie sporting this look. Now just add a pair of her signature retro oval frame glasses and you’ll get locals thinking they’re seeing a ghost!

Joie Norton Pique Dress: $248.00
Palm Beach Lately Arrow Necklace: $78.00

Blog We Love ~ The Kitchen Prep

12 Apr

blog

Dianna Muscari blogs about her cooking and antics on The Kitchen Prep. A self-taught cook and baker, Dianna shares with her readers the messes and successes she encounters in the kitchen. Along with her recipes – which range from healthy to hearty to downright decadent – Dianna shares anecdotes about life, marriage, travel, and living in Florida. Her conversational writing style draws you into her kitchen for a meal and a laugh as she navigates through life one recipe at a time.”

The power of social media is constantly surprising us with it’s extensive reach. We can’t tell you exactly how or why we started to follow The Kitchen Prep blog, but we can tell you that her southern charm and mouth-watering pictures had us instantly hooked. You can imagine how excited we were to find out that she lives right in our backyard! We had the pleasure of working with Dianna on the Sip and Shop event that we hosted with Palm Beach Lately and FlyDry last month. While she’s not technically a caterer (coulda fooled us) she agreed to make some delicious bites for our event.

We like to stay in fashion with our blogging content but we wanted to highlight our new friend because she is so talented! If you haven’t checked out The Kitchen Prep Blog yet – we recommend you cook with her sometime soon!

Steal This Look ~ Black and White

Steal This Look: No Gray Area
blogParker Layne Dress ~ $264.00
Palm Beach Lately Arrow Necklace ~ $78.00

Some things just go together. Florida and sunshine. Movies and popcorn. Rapunzel’s Closet and the hottest trends. A classic pairing that never ages is pairing crisp white with a daring black. One of our newest Parker maxi dresses is nailing this timeless style.

As seen on our celebrity inspirations below, the Parker Layne dress’ bold geometric print is offset by the simplistic color palette of ivory and black. The plunging v-neck of the front is mimicked in the back and the dress also features high-cut slits on either side—a fun twist to the lengthy style. blog

Add a bold earring or bracelet and your outfit is complete and fashionable as ever—and there’s no grey area on that subject.
