After eight long hours at work it’s sometimes hard to find the motivation to throw on some heels and interact socially. Recently after one too many evenings of frozen pizza and Netflix, I rediscovered the joys of stepping out after work and meeting up with friends for a drink, dinner or dancing! So I’ve traded in my comfy 291 sweatpants for one of these three perfect little outfits that make going from work to play a breeze!
First up, this is the classic cute top, jeans and heels combo. The sequined top by T-Bags is called the Voile Sequin Tank. Its black sequins on a light cream silk fabric give it something sparkly without looking too flashy. A pair of skinny jeans keeps the look sleek and I love the ankle length on this James Cured by Seun jean “Ritchie” style. When I’m not wearing them with heels a cute pair of ballerina slippers (try the Sam Edelman Clement Flats, a little jazzier with their patent leather fabric and patterned cut outs) and a blazer makes these ideal to wear into the office on casual Friday. A Love Quotes scarf and a great clutch like the Rebecca Minkoff Nightcap Clutch (perfect name!) finish off the look.
Next up, I’m channeling Mad Men’s fabulous retro vibe with a look almost entirely from Juicy Couture (who knew Juicy could be so perfectly retro?) This is that great outfit that really goes from day to night when you swap your day flats for heels and your big bag for a cute clutch. The dress is the Juicy Couture High Waist Pintuck Dress and it’s paired here with the Juicy Couture Blazer with Grosgrain Piping. A bigger clutch like the Lauren Merkin Ava crackled lambskin clutch is great because it’s roomy enough to carry everything I might actually need for the evening!
And finally we have something a little bit more fun and flirty. This Frenzii Off the Shoulder Mini Dress demands to be taken out dancing! It’s made of easy jersey fabric, has a big ruffle across the top of it that sits just off the shoulders and hidden side pockets. Because of its more casual feel, I like to pair it with a big soft leather bag like the latest from Botkier – the Kai Satchel. In this little number, I’m sure to attract all eyes whiles sipping my margarita at the tiki bar!
