Steal This Look ~ Coachella

Steal This Look: Festival Threads

Music festivals are a classic part of American culture. You pack up your tent, toothbrush, and music fanatic friends for a weekend-long camping trip—all for the sake of music. Coachella Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California is just as famous for its fashion trends as it is for its musical line-up. While Palm Beach is a few thousand miles away from the festival of flower children, there’s no reason why we can’t sport some trendy Coachella looks for everyday wear. Afterall, SunFest is right around the corner. blog

Mixing patterns, fabrics, and styles is completely acceptable, if not necessary, when dressing for a music festival. Add a flower headband and you’re front-row ready. We mixed some of our favorite items to create a look that is just as much at home in South Florida as it is in the lawn seats of Coachella.
blog

On top we chose the Joie Natesa Eyelet Short Sleeve Top. The eyelet print is soft and feminine and the loose fit is ideal for sunny Spring days. On the bottom we went for a darker pair of J Brand Cord Shorts in the color Vintage Basin. These sexy cut-offs offset the shirt’s volume and are an ode the classic corduroy styles of the sixties and seventies.

To finish off the look, we added a Daydreams, Not Dreams Flower Headband and two layered necklaces. The Coachella rule is: “When you think you’re wearing enough, add another accessory.”

Come into Rapunzel’s and create your own festival look. And make sure to get a good seat to the show!

Joie Natesa Eyelet Top: $218.00
J Brand Cord Cut-Off in Vintage Basin: $154.00
Daydreams, Not Dreams Flower Headband: $77.00
Rapunzel’s Jewelry Box Wrapped Lapis Geode Necklace: $58.00
Palm Beach Lately Arrow Necklace: $78.00

Steal This Look: No Gray Area
blogParker Layne Dress ~ $264.00
Palm Beach Lately Arrow Necklace ~ $78.00

Some things just go together. Florida and sunshine. Movies and popcorn. Rapunzel’s Closet and the hottest trends. A classic pairing that never ages is pairing crisp white with a daring black. One of our newest Parker maxi dresses is nailing this timeless style.

As seen on our celebrity inspirations below, the Parker Layne dress’ bold geometric print is offset by the simplistic color palette of ivory and black. The plunging v-neck of the front is mimicked in the back and the dress also features high-cut slits on either side—a fun twist to the lengthy style. blog

Add a bold earring or bracelet and your outfit is complete and fashionable as ever—and there’s no grey area on that subject.

Karen Egren Jewelry Collection @ Rapunzel’s Closet

8 Mar

It’s not often that we find a line that we love as much as the Karen Egren Jewelry Collection. We were introduced to Karen by a friend in Detroit and had the opportunity to go to her goregous showroom which also happens to double as her spectacular home and really have the “Karen Egren Experience.” Not only does she have a fabulous collection of jewelry that ranges from $50 to the $1000s, but she has a real talent for putting things together that you wouldn’t ever imagine would look amazing as a collection. It seemed like a no brainer to invite her to come to Rapunzel’s Closet for a trunk show. We fashionistas have to stick together and share our style secrets right?

Stop by Rapunzel’s Closet on Monday, March 11 from 11:00 am ~ 3:00 pm and spruce up your Spring Jewelry wardrobe. We’ll be serving refreshments and having a ball playing dress-up with all of Karen’s Jewelry!

Introducing ~ Bourbon & Boweties + a Giveaway!!

1 Feb

blog Bamboo Mix Bracelets

After traveling around the world, Florida Girl Carley Ochs came home and began hand crafting a unique jewelry line called Bourbon and Boweties. (her two favorite things) The jewelry line was inspired by Carley’s gypsy traveling lifestyle and love for all things made in the South. She wanted to create something fabulously unique, but also something that appealed to women of all ages.

Carley says “My grandmother has always told me: Things that you do, do with all your might because things done by 1/2’s are never done right.”  So she puts her heart and soul into each bracelet. The Bourbon and Boweties motto is “Made by proud Southern hands” and it envelops all that Carley is and has become in her 27 years. Carley loves what she does and it shows in each piece.

Stacked for Success: Hobby Becomes Business

Two Palm Beach locals,  Liz Evans and Annie Johnson have teamed up to create a unique jewelry line called Stacked. The young entrepreneurs decided to turn what was once a hobby of making bracelets into a business with a goal to make fun and affordable custom jewelry.
 blog

“Sharing a passion for fashion, we both fell in love with the idea of using accessories and mixing lots of bright colors in one’s wardrobe,” says Johnson.

Liz majored in fashion merchandising and has worked at three major fashion houses in New York and Florida since she graduated from University of Alabama. “Having a background in production and buying, as well as the love for jewelry, has made this business adventure very exciting” says Evans. blog

The name Stacked came easy. It defines the idea of layering the bracelets with different styles, charms, colors, and especially other pieces of jewelry. The next step is to incorporate necklaces and different and new styles of jewelry. blog

For the latest designs check out  Stacked on Facebook and follow them on Instagram at stackedbracelets.

We Shoot Rain or Shine or Blazing Heat

12 Oct

blog

Our most recent photo shoot was met with its fair share of challenges. We had to brave the blazing heat while we were trying to showcase Fall’s finest. It was pouring of course because it’s hurricane season in Florida. We put on our prettiest faces and did our best to “not melt” in the down pours and made the proverbial lemons out of lemonade.  Here’s a sneak peek behind the scenes!

blog Stunning Gia with her hair up waiting to dash out and do a quick shot in this fabulous Elizabeth and James Lori Chiffon Tank and Nichole Skirt.
blog We always like to showcase pieces from our Jewelry Selection. How great does this CC Design  necklace look with the Joie Purine Leopard top? Sarah looks gorg too.. we promise!

blog We found a bit of shelter in a gazebo in a public park. Gia is waiting for our amazing photographer Rob to get setup for the shoot. We’re loving Splendid’s Baby Cord Button Down in Swan paired with AG Stilt Jeans in Smitten and an Auburn Pigment Short Sleeve Tee From James Perse.

Love that tote in the first picture? It’s Dogeared and we’re obsessed!

Behind The Scenes: The Fall Photo Shoot

14 Sep

blog Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes of one of our photo shoots? Besides a lot of laughing and having fun because we love what we do – there is a lot of hard work that goes into selecting the outfits and locations for our shoots. Here is a look into our behind the scenes taken by our photo shoot stylist Stephanie. blog

Step 1. We choose the outfits. Stephanie starts by having a conversation with our buyer Hallie to determine what items we want to feature for the month.

Step 2. Stephanie pulls together all of the outfits, takes pictures of them and sends them to Hallie for a second opinion.

Step 3. Stephanie chooses the jewelry she wants to feature with each outfit.

blog

Step 4. She selects a group of locations and discusses them with our photographer Robert. blog
Step 5. The day of the shoot the models arrive and they set out to the first location. blog
Step 6. Robert sets up each shot and makes sure that every picture looks its best! blog
Step 7. After a bit of shooting the girls start getting silly! blog
Step 8. It’s back to business and Rob finishes shooting all the pictures and then heads back to the offices to download and touch them up.

Step 9. Stephanie chooses the best of the best and sends them to Hallie who coordinates how each picture will be used.

blog
The whole process takes 2-3 days of hard work but the results are always fabulous!

The Girls are wearing looks from Vince, Chaser LA, Hudson Jeans, Splendid, Free People, Patterson J. Kincaid and Citizens of Humanity. The sunnies and the shoes are their own. The jewelry is from our Rapunzel’s Jewelry Box collection. Call us at 561.659.5300 to inquire about any of the outfits you see here.
